…..as he threw his hands in the air. “I’m here, and that means I’ve already been ‘Born’! I can’t be Born ‘again’, stupid!”
Matt turned and started walking away, but then hesitated and looked back over his shoulder, glaring at the man whose words had caused him such frustration. “You don’t make any sense at all…….None!”
The man – Josh – shook his head in agreement, as he chuckled; ” You’re right, Matt, it doesn’t make sense, but it’s still true. You can’t be born again physically; but you sure can, spiritually; and it’ll happen just like that, as he snapped his thumb and finger together! My Father – your Father – “God”, is just waiting for you to ask him into your life; and the exact moment you ask Him “in”, He’ll immediately cause His Spirit to come into existence – be born -within you! In a spiritual way, you’ll become ‘Born Again.’ Oh, you’ll still ‘be’ Matt; you’ll have your same body, and your same personality; but now you’ll have more: you’ll have, and feel Him within you! ”
“And why use the words Born Again? Because, it’s like when a baby is born……everything it sees is “new” to it…..new and wondrous! And so it’ll be with you, Matt. The moment that you invite God into your life; you’ll begin to see and experience Him, in a new way. In His Word – the Bible – God said it this way: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians Chapter 5, Verse 17). Once you have His ‘Holy Spirit’ within you, He’ll be a vibrant, pulsating reality that you’ll feel, and marvel at! He won’t be history to you; he’ll be real!”
“So, 20 years ago I was born physically; but now, I can be born ‘spiritually”, Matt asked, “Is that it? ”
“Yeah”, Josh answered, “that’s it!”
“So how can I do that, Matt asked, ” and how can I be sure that It’ll really happen?”
“By focusing on God, and saying – praying – these words, to Him, Matt: ‘Dear heavenly Father, I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross for my sins and I ask Him into my life now, as my Lord and Savior, trusting Him for the Salvation of my Soul’, Josh replied. “And as to your question about whether it’ll really happen? Well, you have God’s Word on it, Matt. Jesus Himself said, ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to Him….(Revelation, Chapter 3, Verse 20).”
From Dave, this Blog’s writer……………… Dear reader, if perhaps you also prayed, as Matt did, above, asking Jesus into your heart and life; please know that your universe has now changed, completely; and that from this moment on, you’ll never, ever be the same. You are now a son or daughter of God, the creator of the universe; and He loves you, fiercely! As you let Him, he will protect you, guide you, and even transform you into a gentler, kinder person. May I suggest that you now begin each day with a short prayer – in your own words – to God; and that you try to read a few words of His Word, the Bible, as you find the opportunity. Your life is still yours; to do what you will, as you will: but it’s also His (God’s), now; and trust me, you’ll never, ever, regret it!!
